Optional Paid or Bartering Job Desciprtion

Position Title: Equine Stable Hand - Three Evening Shifts

Shifts: Friday through Sunday — Flexible Between 5:00 and 8:00 PM

 

Summary:

Looking for a motivated candidate to help take care of up to five horses, including feeding, cleaning pens, watering, and additional light chores, three evenings a week, in exchange for horsemanship lessons and access to the facility for an aspiring horse person, or as a paid position at $25.00 per shift for the first 60 days, then an increase of $5.00 per shift equaling $30.00 per shift. While some previous experience is preferred, also open to training the right hard-working dedicated candidate who offers attention to detail and a good work ethic.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, take pride in their work, and be able to follow specific instructions without deviation
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and dependable
  • Must have good communications skills
  • Must have own transportation
  • Must own a smartphone
  • Some experience is preferred, and also willing to train a candidate who is the right fit
  • Must be an aspiring horse person, or a person willing to support an aspiring horse person and be willing to barter services as outlined below
  • Must have good references

Available Equine Stable Hand Shifts:

  • Three Evening Shifts — Friday through Sunday
  • Flexible Feedings Times: Between 5:00 and 8:00 PM

Estimated Hours:

  • Estimated Hours Per Shift: 1.5 to 2 Hours
  • Estimated Hours Per Week: Up to 6 Hours
  • Estimated Hours Per Month: Up to 26 Hours On Average

Bartering Option:

In exchange for completing agreed-upon shifts each month, Happy Hoof Beats can offer the following services with an estimated retail value of $1,300.00 per month. Note: This bartering offer has no cash value; services may not be redeemed for cash payment.

Horsemanship Coaching:

Four hours of personalized private/semi-private horsemanship coaching and training assistance for you and your horse* per week. *Lessons are also available on HHB’s Master School horse, but the HHB school horse will not be available to ride in the Equestrian Trail Park, you must ride your own horse or any other horse. Estimated retail value is $300.00 per month. 

Facility Usage:

Use of the HHB facilitating, including all the following facility amenities, for you and a friend or family member of choice. Estimated Retail Value: $1000.00 per month

  • Use of a well-lit and dust-controlled 100’ x 200’ arena with Cavalletti grids and various obstacles
  • Use of the only certified Extreme Mountain Trail Equestrian Trail Park** in the Southwest featuring 27 obstacles; **Note: for your safety, you and your horse must receive instruction and training to learn the essential trail horse partnership skill; some more dangerous obstacles may not be available due to safety reason
  • Use of 60’ Round Pen
  • Use of a wash rack with hot and cold water
  • Use of a 3 speed/reversible hot walker; once your horse is trained and safe
  • Use of a schoolroom and sitting lounge with refrigerator, microwave, sink with counter space, and wifi
  • Trailer Parking
  • Access to miles of open BLM riding
  • Access to the facility is available five days a week — HHB is closed on Mondays and Thursdays — must be mindful of HHB’s client lessons and training of horses, which take priority

Ranch Rules:

  • No Alcohol
  • No Drugs
  • No Smoking or Vaping
  • No Dogs — Leave Your Dog at Home
  • No Children Under 10 Years Old allowed on the property without prior authorization
