No.

Insurance requirements for private Trail Park access vs access for a public competition events are different.

PRIVATE TRAIL PARK ACCESS

Because of insurance requirements regarding private access to the Trail Park, HHB can only grant private access to rider/horse pairs that complete what we now call 'Introduction to Mountain Trail Curriculum.' The insurance company wants to make sure that anyone who accesses the park privately has the information and skills they need to avoid accidents and injury, as they will not always be under the supervision of a trainer. This keeps our insurance rates reasonable and it keeps riders and horses safe.

PUBLIC COMPETITION EVENTS

Insurance requirements for public events are different, and allow any rider/horse pairs to come onto the HHB property for an event. While onsite during the event dates, preparing and practicing for the event, all competitors are covered by the insurance. However, no competitors are covered by insurance while in the process of actually competing — this is common at all equestrian events. This means that for the few minutes that you are being judged on the course, for the purpose of competing and scoring, insurance does not cover you or your horse. Insurance companies do offer equestrian competition insurance to cover this 'gap’ — we can provide information about competition insurance for those who request it.
