Play Day Schooling Challenge
May 17, 18 & 19, 2019

Friday is designated for Mountain Trail Group lessons.
Saturday is designated for a Mountain Trail Mini-Clinic and open riding.
The Schooling Challenge will take place on Sunday.

This event is open to all competitive trail enthusiasts, all ages, all breeds, all disciplines, and all skill levels regardless of previous experience with Mountain Trail.

This fun event is designed to bring multiple disciplines of the horse community together to generate interest, knowledge and appreciation of Mountain Trail skills that are complementary to all riders/disciplines. This is an International Mountain Trail Challenge Association (IMTCA) sanctioned schooling challenge.

Pre-register on EventBrite to RSVP for the HHB IMTCA Play Day Schooling Challenge to let us know you intend on participating and to reserve your dry camping corral. When the Registration Packet is ready at the end of February we will email it to you with instructions. Note: You are not registered for this schooling challenge until you submit your registration form and full payment.

Friday, May 17

Mountain Trail Group Lessons | 8 AM – 4 PM

Two-hour group lessons are available for anyone who has completed the Introduction to Mountain Trail curriculum. Lesson Groups are limited to three riders. Select 'Friday Group Lesson' on your registration form and someone will contact you to confirm a time when your registration from is received. Spots are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first serve basis.

Saturday, May 18

Check-In & Registration | 7 - 10 AM

Open Riding and Practice | 8 AM - 5 PM

The HHB Arena and HHB Equestrian Trail Park will be open to all competitors for warm up and practice throughout the day. Both the Arena and Trail Park will be closed to open riding while participants in the Mini-Clinic are using them. A schedule will be posted one week prior.

Mountain Trail Essentials Mini-Clinic | 10 PM to 3 PM

During the Mini-Clinic, riders new to the Mountain Trail discipline will have an opportunity to learn Mountain Trail competition essentials, watch demonstrations, receive judge’s critics through mock judging, and spend time in the arena and the equestrian trail park practicing. Lunch break from 12 noon to 1 PM. Riders and auditors both welcome. Mini-clinic registration is reserved for riders who have not completed the Introduction to Mountain Trail coaching clinic until Friday, May 3, 2019. If spots remain after May 3rd, then registration opens up for all riders.

HHB Equestrian Trail Park Two Year Anniversary Celebration | 5 - 8 PM

Join us for BBQ, music, and good friends to celebrate the two year anniversary of HHB Equestrian Trail Park of Southern Nevada.

Sunday, May 19

Play Day Schooling Challenge | 7 AM – 5 PM

In-Hand — Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3
Rider — Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3

*Note: The Trail Park will not be open on the day of the Schooling Challenge for any practice.

Cash Prizes — 10% of Entry Fees will be set aside for awards.

Trail Park Access - Lessons and Trail Park access available Tuesday and Wednesday for Intro Mountain Trail coaching clinic graduates.

Horse Health Requirements – Negative Coggins test required within last 12 months. Flu and rhino vaccines required in last 6 months. See small print below.

Liability and Photo/Video Releases – All riders, auditors, and guests must sign an HHB liability release as well as and HHB photo and video release, which are included in the Registration Packet.

Amenities – Overnight dry camping and 20 x 20 corrals are available.

Tobacco and Alcohol Free – Happy Hoof Beats Equestrian Center is a tobacco and alcohol-free facility.

No refunds - Credits for future HHB events and clinics with 10 days notice.


Horse Health Requirements

Coggins Test — Your horse must have had a Coggins Test in the past 12 months — A negative Coggins veterinary Report required at check-in

Rhino and Flu Vaccinations — Your horse must be up-to-date on all vaccinations including proof of rhino and flu vaccinations within 6 months by Veterinarian or proof of purchase

Upon arrival, all horses MUST BE in good health — no cough, no temperature, no runny noses, no lameness

Horses showing signs of illness will be asked to leave hhb property - not to expose other horses

Hoses showing signs of lameness will not be able to participate
